Levi's 501 vs. 505

Two iconic Levi's fits dating back to the 1890's. Further developments came in the 40's and 60's making the pairs what they are today.

501:

The anything and everything jean. The Levi's jean; the model is almost synonymous with the brand name.

  • High rise

  • Slim straight leg

  • Button closure

  • More roomy

  • Love them for skating

My 34 x 32 pair:

  • Waist = 33"

  • Rise = 13"

  • Leg opening = 8"

  • Inseam = 31 & 5/8"

505:

Turned workwear into the rock star staple jean- think Ramone's and the Stones.

  • 1/4" Less high rise than 501

  • Slim leg

  • Zipper closure

  • Tighter than 501 but not skinny

  • Perfect inch of room in the thigh

  • Grittier but versatile

My 32 x 34 pair:

  • Waist = 32"

  • Rise = 12 3/4"

  • Leg opening = 7"

  • Inseam = 32 & 1/2”

Love you,

Ave
